I'm part of a professional performance company where our next
production is Phantom of the Opera, however we want to do it old
fashioned style for this performance, with only male performers. I'm
the only male in the troupe who can sing castrato so I'm being stuck
as Carlotta or as Christine. I want to be Christine just because I
know all her lines and I'm the only guy who can hit both high enough
to sing 'Wishing you were somehow here again' and low enough to sing
'Point of No Return' but they want to put me as Carlotta because she
sings so much higher than Christine, and I'm the only one who can hit
her notes. What should I do? What I want to and be Christine or do
what they want and be Carlotta?
